The film Psycho is a 60s horror film directed by Hitchcock and starring Anthony Perkins and Janet Leigh. The film is based on the screenplay and was adapted from a novel of the same name by Robert Bloch. The novel was loosely inspired by the crimes of Wisconsin murderer and grave robber Ed Gein who lived just very close to Bloch.
The thing about the Bates Motel is that it seems very normal at first, just a side of the highway sort of road stop. PLOT and SPOILER ALERT : Marion Crane (an office worker) (Leigh) is fed up She has to meet her lover Sam (Gavin) in lunch breaks and they cannot get married because Sam has to give most of his money away in alimony. One Friday Marion is trusted to bank to a large sum of money by her employer. Seeing this as an opportunity to take the money and start a fresh new life, Marion leaves town and heads toward California. After a long drive Marion becomes tired and caught in a nasty storm, she pulls into The Bates Motel. The motel is managed by a quiet young man called Norman Bates who is dominated by his mother.
The mother is the creepiest part of the whole movie. The psycho mother costume is simple which makes it even more scary. The Bates motel set is still up in California.

So it’s almost the Halloween season which makes me also want to start thinking about Christmas. I know it’s strange because i like Halloween so much but i guess seeing as we’re almost there i would like to think and focus on Christmas a little bit.
Perhaps you could mix the two and be something Christmassy for Halloween! That would be very interesting. I remember watching some horror movie when i was younger about a psycho killer that went nuts and he was dressed in Santa Claus’ clothing. Pretty spooky if you ask me. I definitely wouldn’t want some lunatic chasing me dressed like an old man wearing a red suit. I’d just rather unwrap presents instead of running for my dear life.
Anyway, but to the topic of Christmas. Christmas is a special time of year. I was looking at all the possibilities you could dress up as with Christmas inspired themes. There are quite a few. I really enjoy the Nutcracker costume. It has a spooky look to it, but also pretty darned cool. I don’t know if any of you have ever used a real nutcracker like the stereotypical Nutcracker character but they work pretty well.
Here is the trailer to the spooky movie i was talking about above with the guy dressed like Santa going after people. Actually i think this is a different one but same idea. I definitely remember the other one being a lot more cheesy.

I’m getting all geared up for Halloween, it’s just around the corner. I can almost here the creepy crawlies calling my name and some spooky coyotes howling at the moon.
Nothing gets me more in the mood for Halloween than some good ol’ fashioned classics like the Addam’s Family. That zaney family never tires and always brings out the best in Halloween spirit! Each cast member fit so well for their role. The munsters came before the Addam’s family but i really enjoyed the Addam’s family the best of all!
Lurch would always open the door and say “You rannnnggg” and he’d have such a daunting scary voice, but he had a humerous way about him too. Morticia was simply divine, she was so dark but such a great housewife. Pugsley and Wednesday were the perfect dark duo, always playing deathly tricks on each other. I particularly loved Wednesday’s costume! It was so simple but dark and spooky.
I also really, really love the theme song. It brings back so many nostalgic memories. The finger snaps at the beginning are the best.
