THE ADDAMS FAMILYYYY!

Thursday, October 6th, 2011

I’m getting all geared up for Halloween, it’s just around the corner. I can almost here the creepy crawlies calling my name and some spooky coyotes howling at the moon.
Nothing gets me more in the mood for Halloween than some good ol’ fashioned classics like the Addam’s Family. That zaney family never tires and always brings out the best in Halloween spirit! Each cast member fit so well for their role. The munsters came before the Addam’s family but i really enjoyed the Addam’s family the best of all!

Lurch would always open the door and say “You rannnnggg” and he’d have such a daunting scary voice, but he had a humerous way about him too. Morticia was simply divine, she was so dark but such a great housewife. Pugsley and Wednesday were the perfect dark duo, always playing deathly tricks on each other. I particularly loved Wednesday’s costume! It was so simple but dark and spooky.

I also really, really love the theme song. It brings back so many nostalgic memories. The finger snaps at the beginning are the best.

Costumes you love to hate.. and you only hate them because you didn’t think of it first.

I hate when people dress up as aclever food costume. The only reason I hate them, is because I am so jealous I didn’t think of it first. Although, it’s pretty rare you see twodeviled eggsat a party..you wouldn’t want to be the second egg to arrive. I can never get anyone cool enough to coordinate a couples costumewith me.

Halloween is just around the corner and i’ve already started looking up recipes, costume ideas and decorations! Check out this great idea from “Disney’s Family Fun page

Materials
  • Acorns
  • Orange acrylic paint
  • Brown acrylic paint
  • Black permanent marker
Instructions
  1. Remove the caps from a handful of acorns.
  2. Coat each one with orange acrylic paint, adding a bit of brown to the acorn’s point for a stem.
  3. Let the paints dry, then add a jack-o’-lantern face with a black permanent marker.
Tips:
Warning:
As several FamilyFun readers who made this craft found out, some acorns are infested with weevils. The weevils feed on the nutmeat while they develop over the summer, and when the acorns hit the ground in the fall, these insects know it’s time to start chewing their way out and into the ground — or your home. Reader Janie Foster offers a solution: before you start the project, bake the acorns in a slow oven to kill the weevils. Just be careful not to burn the acorns!

Check out this other great Halloween decoration! It’s an air-blown decoration that lights up. I absolutely love pumpkins!
