There is something so alluring about witchcraft. Whether you’re interested in dark or light magic, there are plenty of discoveries to be had. I remember being a young girl; long before Sabrina the Teenaged Witch was around, and longing for supernatural powers. The ability to fly, to make potions that could cure, to be recognized and revered. I once dreamt at an early age that I was adopted and was actually born to a family of witches and warlocks. All I had to do to fly was click my knees together and jump. Surprisingly, despite my great interest in witches as a child, I never dressed in akids witch costume. Even today I have yet to adorn awitch costume. Perhaps I will dedicate this years costume to the iconic, never over done, supernatural woman.

Valentines; for some, might be one of the most depressing days of the year. All around you your loneliness is rubbed in your face and you’re surrounded by happy blossoming love or old love that has stood the test of time. Either way, if you’re alone on Valentines day, you’re going to be sad and feeling a little left out. You might even pretend to be one of those people who protests and hates what the day stands for. Only people who are loners and spend the day alone consistently actually complain about the holiday. And crazy hippies who have something against “The Man”. To all you Valentines haters, I hate you. Relax and embrace the sweet holiday that allows us to be a little cheesier than normal, a day that might give us the courage to tell that special someone how we feel about them. This Valentines day I think I might wear a cupid costume and try and work a little magic myself! Wish me luck.

Believe it or not, I actually love this holiday. Made up for consumers or not, I am a very cheesy romantic at heart. Last Valentines I was waiting for the bus and within 5 minutes of each other I saw two elderly couples holding hands and each wife had a bouquet of carnations. To me, that is what Valentines is about. Publicly letting the world see you dote on your sweetheart. Plus who doesn’t love an excuse to wear asexy cupid costume? Or you could be the present at all and wear nothing but abow costume. I hope everyone enjoys upcoming love day as much as I do!
