 Cyborg Boy
Robots are part of our daily lives, the Roomba for example is a tiny circular robot that vacuums your carpets while you aren’t home. Androids, are essentially robots that are constructed to look like human beings (and sometimes act like them as well) but have no human components. Cyborgs are part human, and part robot. There are endless Halloween costume possibilities in that alone.
We all have some kind of technology around the house that we either don’t use anymore because it is obsolete and we haven’t bothered to throw it away, or we recently have gotten ourselves a shiny new model to occupy our time. These old and unimportant bits of technology can be broken down and the interesting looking parts can be used to create your costume.
One way to go is to buy silver pants, a silver top, and some silver body paint; and have at it. If you cover your skin well enough it will look like you’re an android, and gelling down your hair to make it appear more hard and unrealistic would help as well.
Or, using those parts I was talking about, your could construct what looks like an ‘open panel’ on your body. You could tear a hole in whatever clothing you were wearing to reveal that just underneath your synthetic skin are mechanical components.
Using plastic, paint, and variations of tubing or wires you could create a mechanical ‘arm’ that goes over your own to give the illusion that you are nearly completely human, except for when you lost that arm in a dystopian cyberpunk laser gunfight, and had to replace it with the scrap metal and technology you had on hand.
All of these would make for really original and interesting costumes for you on Halloween night. If you can, include little details that people would need to see up close to fully appreciate. This might draw people across the room straight to you, because they want to get a better look at your costume and take in the details. Then you could use that opportunity as a way to start conversation. By being an android, robot, or cyborg this Halloween, you can’t loose!

 Surfer
So you live in a place with a coast, and you love the beach, the ocean, the waves and all of the activities that go with. Why not channel that love into your Halloween costume this year and be a beach babe/stud in a beach costume? This costume will be the cheapest you’ve ever done, but conversely might be the most work. Generally, everyone already owns a bathing suit, so the actual costume part will be pretty simple; just get it out of your drawer or closet and put it on. However, if you’re not exactly sure that you have the confidence to go to a Halloween party in just your bathing suit, then a trip to the gym might be in order (that’s where the work would come in). You could always go buy a wetsuit, and bring a boogie board or surfboard with you, and that eliminates the trouble of toning up those few troublesome zones on your body in time for the holiday, and gives you the added edge of being a surfer, instead of just a ‘beach go-er’. But you could be a surfer in swim trunks or a bikini as well. It’s all up to you and what you’re comfortable with.
If you’re like me, and you live in a place where the beaches get a lot of tourism, your friends might get a kick out of seeing you dressed as a “tourist beach go-er”. It would be a great funny costume to do, especially since so many of us that live here originally moved from other states when they were kids, technically we were all tourists once. You could get white face paint to simulate sunscreen that never soaked in, and smear it on your nose and on your cheeks under your eyes. Big baggy shorts are a must, as well as a novelty baseball cap for the state/city that you live in, a brightly colored fanny pack around your hips would be a big indicator of what you were trying to achieve. As for a top, wife beaters for the men and camisole-type bathing suit tops for the women. You could even have a little fun with red makeup to simulate a really bad sunburn.

 Ninja costume
One of the main appeals of a guy in a Ninja costume, is that they are surrounded by mystery. There are hardly any records kept about what exactly the job description entailed, and it’s hard to say what effects they had on history. But what this really tells us is that they must have been doing their jobs well to so seamlessly blend into the folds of time. Some very major assassinations could quite possibly have been the work of hired ninja, as well as overthrows and the winning of certain wars.
The way we think of ninja today is that they are spies and assassins who sneak through the night to either collect information or take out their target. They wear black from head to toe, and often have their faces covered to ensure that they will not be recognized when they carry out their normal daytime routines. They strike in complete silence and leave without a shred of evidence that they had even been there in the first place. So needless to say, dressing as a Ninja for Halloween would make for a very cool costume.
The best part is that if you have absolutely no money, you can still be a fairly decent looking ninja. A Mr. Vern Reid as cleverly come up with a way to turn an average black t-shirt into a ninja head covering [Directions are Here] without ruining the t-shirt. After you’ve completed those easy steps, you can put on a black long sleeved shirt, black pants, and you’re good to go!
If you did have a little cash to spend this Halloween, there are also some really cool varieties of ninja costume ready-made and easy to put on; for men and women. As well as plastic double-swords to put on your back, throwing stars, or nunchucks. The nunchucks also come in foam, for the added pleasure of beating your friends with them without the worry of taking someone’s eye out and getting sued.
